Mobilized.
I had a little bike accident from which I am now fully recovered. Farsheed asked around and it turned out Griselda had me covered on the crutches tip for 1 of the 1.3 days I needed them.
I actually shouldn't say 'accident' since that's quite glamorous and seems to imply a motorized vehicle was involved or at the very least another hapless cyclist. Bike *crash* is more on point. Basically, I crashed my BMX straight into a steel girder on the sidewalk after skidding on gravel attempting to navigate the broken pavement beneath the Milwaukee Ave. train overpass at an unreasonably high speed. When I looked up and saw that the gap between myself and two feet of solid steel perpendicular to my front wheel was (like the polar ice cap and ozone layer) disappearing at an unhealthy rate, I made the logical decision to save myself and leave my BMX to its own fate. I jumped.
My trailing arm was too slow and caught the girder as I sailed sideways through the air- luckily merely a surface scrape. In landing I must have twisted my left foot/ankle though. For about a half hour it was ok, then it started to hurt. Two hours later I couldn't walk on it.
Now all better though. A wiser, more cautious cyclist now navigates the sidewalks of Humboldt on his 20-inch PeopleSquasher.
