Ah. Hegel. Yes.
Joe convinced me to go to a Platypus lecture, and suddenly I find myself roped into a presentation in a few weeks on an Adorno reading.
The participants are friendly, bemused academics it seems, from my first lecture. Joe pretends to stand at a critical distance, but I notice how tightly he clutches his "Tucker", the red Marx- Engels reader of choice.
At least I get to brush up on my academese. I've already detected some subtle regional differences. In Champaign, one says "unpack" when one means "to talk more about something one doesn't really understand". Here in Chicago, one uses "tease-out" to mean pretty much the same thing.

yeah, pretty much. i shouldn;t call it a 'lecture'. more 'discussion'. 'nervous discussion'.
"suss out" is another good one.
