DroneWarz

The drone fascination continues...and my worst fears are confirmed.  Here's a sentence from the glossary on diydrones

UAV: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. In the military, these are increasingly called Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), to reflect that the aircraft is just part of a complex system in the air and on the ground.

Bad. News. Bears.

I met a guy who's part of a crew working on a quadcopter with a unique modification that I won't detail
out of respect for his project's goal -- securing a $100K DARPA prize.

Looks like there's a lot of really scribbley math involved, including GPS, algorithms for estimating location/vector, etc.  And not to mention programming the arduino, and the circuitry itself.  I wish I'd been more dedicated to learning C when I was 14.  It is what it is.

On the bright side, I definitely have a really strong shortlist of people to turn to for help on any and every aspect of the project:  (theoretical math, aerospace, materials, electrical, arduino, AI).

What IS the project, you might ask?

CLASSIFIED
